This Website is designed for use by individuals that want to conduct fundraisers to benefit the American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay For Life program. If you are a company that would like to conduct a fundraiser for ACS, please contact ACS at 1-800-227-2345.
By using this Website, you acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for the fundraising event (Event) that you conduct. You acknowledge that the Event is only to benefit ACS and that ACS has no involvement in conducting or promoting the Event. You hereby release ACS of any and all liability and agree that you are responsible for any claims, causes of action, and damages that may arise in connection with the Event. You further agree to indemnify and hold ACS harmless for any and all direct and/or third party claims, demands, losses, costs, obligations, and liabilities that you may incur or suffer in direct or indirect relation to your acts or omissions at or arising out of the operations of the Event.
ACS grants to you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right and license to use the Relay For Life name and logo solely in connection with the Event and solely to state that such Event is to “to benefit” the ACS Relay For Life program. All use of the Relay For Life name and mark will be subject to guidelines that ACS may publish from time to time and all use inures to the benefit of ACS.
You are conducting the Event for no compensation. You will be responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses, including any taxes, that may be incurred in connection with the Event. All amounts raised must be sent to ACS as either a donation via RelayForLife.org, in person submission at a Relay For Life local activity, at an ACS office, or through mailed donation to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 within 14 days of the end of your fundraising event. You may deduct limited, reasonable expenses from the funds raised provided that you follow any guidelines that ACS may publish from time to time regarding expenses. You understand that failure to provide funds raised to ACS may be considered fraud and/or theft and subject to criminal prosecution.
Payments made to the Event from participants or patrons are not direct donations to ACS. As such, you may not issue receipts to participants or patrons that use the terms “donation,” “charitable donation” or “charitable contribution.” You may not offer tax advice to participants or patrons of the Event, but you may suggest that individuals seek advice of a tax professional if asked.
You agree that you will not include information on this Website and in promotional materials about the Event that is inconsistent with ACS's mission and values. Such content includes, but is not limited to, advertising a for-profit business, an endorsement or perceived endorsement of any goods or services, support or opposition of a political party or a political candidate, materials affiliated with tobacco/marijuana or tobacco/marijuana-related products and any other products inconsistent with ACS's mission, content of any nature which may result in fraud or misrepresentation to the public, pornographic or otherwise offensive sexual materials, racially or ethnically prejudicial materials, overtly religious materials or any other information that may be offensive to the general public. ACS reserves the right to revoke the license granted and remove any information on your Event from this Website that ACS deems in violation of these policies and standards.
